What do geeks do to have fun? This, of course. These rules were written a couple decades ago by my buddy Travis and a friend of his, and are transcripted here as they were originally written all those years ago. Every now and again we get together, Travis, Mayo, and I... along with various others here and there, and play. Some nights are more memorable than others. And while the list says it's not comprehensive, I dare you to get through more than three episodes. If you do, you're probably not doing it right (especially if one of those episodes is "The Trouble with Tribbles").
It should be noted that these rules work nicely on the new movie, also. As discovered by Mayo and Travis when they went to see it in the theater and snuck in more than candy...
The Original Star Trek Drinking GameCreated by: James Pelfrey and Travis Hayer
With help from: John Todd, Cab O'Callaghan, Mayo French, and Danie West
After weeks of searching for this game to no avail, we just decided to write it ourselves. We collected a few rules that, we feel, truly enhance the enjoyment of watching the original Star Trek series. This is by no means a final list. If you have something you'd like to add, feel free. But if you do, please add your name and recirculate the list.
In order to play this game you'll need a few things:
Some friends to play the game with (the more the better).
Some form of alcoholic beverage.
Access to episodes of the original Star Trek series.
A television or computer.
Now that you have all of the ingredients, just gather around the TV and enjoy the game. Be advised that as you play, you are all judges interpreting these rules. Anyone who has a reasonable doubt can call for a ruling simply by saying Ruling! Of course, the ruling should always be ...Drink! (Also: people not participating in the drinking cannot call for a ruling.)
